Performing Climate Change
Nov. 3, 2015, 5 p.m.
Climate Change Theatre Action is a joint initiative from NoPassport, The Arctic Cycle and Theatre Without Borders. The event at ASU is part of a series of worldwide readings and performances intended to bring awareness to, and foster discussion around, climate change. Renowned writers Caridad Svich, Chantal Bilodeau and Elaine Avila have curated the plays, songs and poems by writers from all six livable continents. More than 100 events, ranging from radio programs, informal readings in classrooms and day-long festivals to site-specific performances at the foot of glaciers, will be held throughout the months of November and December 2015 in over 20 countries.
The event Nov. 3 at the ASU Museum will feature ASU professors, students and community members David Barker, Elisa Gonzalez, Marcelino Quiñonez, Evan Carson, Karl Cormack, Austin Kiehle, Kim Richards, Zach Hutton, Karla Orellana and Micha Espinosa. Chispa Arizona, a program of the League of Conservation Voters, will provide a presentation on the importance of civic engagement on climate change.
